چکیده
This paper presents a meso-scale modelling framework to investigate the fracture process in concrete subjected uniaxial and biaxial compression accounting for its mesostructural characteristics. 3D mesostructure of consisting coarse aggregates, mortar interfacial transition zone between them was developed using an in-house code based on Voronoi tessellation splining method, which enables generate realistic-look aggregates with controllable structural features such as content, location, size shape. Based generated mesostructure, damage plasticity approach employed simulate compressive behaviour terms crack morphology stress-strain response against shape parameters aggregate. Results indicate that aggregate has negligible effect strength concrete, is highly associated random location distribution The irregularity significant influence initiation growth concrete.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Performance of High-strength Concrete Made with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates
Recent scientific concerns to achieve sustainability in construction have suggested the implementation of using recycled aggregate in concrete because it has the potential to reduce the demand for extraction of natural raw materials and decrease the volume of wastes landfilled. In this respect, this study aims to investigate the suitability of using ceramic tile (CT) and ceramic sanitary (CS) w...

Aims. In order to deduce properties of dust in astrophysical environments where dust growth through aggregation is important, knowledge of the way aggregated particles interact with radiation, and what information is encoded in the thermal radiation they emit, is needed. The emission characteristics are determined by the size and structure of the aggregate and the composition and shape of the c...
متن کاملUniaxial Compressive Constitutive Relationship of Concrete Confined by Special-Shaped Steel Tube Coupled with Multiple Cavities
A method is presented to predict the complete stress-strain curves of concrete subjected to triaxial stresses, which were caused by axial load and lateral force. The stress can be induced due to the confinement action inside a special-shaped steel tube having multiple cavities. The existing reinforced confined concrete formulas have been improved to determine the confinement action. The influen...
متن کاملAnalysis of Irregularly Shaped Texture Regions
Four different texture classification methods (wavelet-based, co-occurrence matrices-based, 1D-histograms-based, and 1D Boolean model-based) are systematically compared and evaluated with respect to their performance in identifying textures from small and irregular samples. Two sets of 135 complex shape masks (symmetric and nonsymmetric) are created using Fourier shape descriptors, and used to ...
